CCNA 2: Fundamentals of routing, switching and wireless networks

This module covers the architecture, components and operation of routers and switches in networks. Participants learn how to virtually segment VLANs, how to route between them and basic switch security settings. They learn about WLAN concepts and how to set them up. Learn the basic principles of routing and how to set up static and default routes in IP networks. They know how to protect a company’s LAN.

Content

  • the basics of home LANs,
  • learn about the characteristics of network switches and how they are managed,
  • virtual LAN sharing – VLAN,
  • principles of communication and routing between different VLAN segments,
  • STP protocol operation to prevent loops in LANs,
  • the basics of combining physical connections into virtual ones using Etherchannel,
