A micro-credential is a certificate awarded upon the successful completion of a short educational program focused on acquiring specific skills or competences.
It typically covers a targeted topic that can be learned in a short time and contributes to a quicker response to labor market needs, career development, or the upgrading of existing knowledge.

Razvoj decentraliziranih rešitev: Osnove blokovnih verig in platform za industrijo
Content
The program is a combination of live hands-on workshops and the use of online materials for self-paced learning.
The aim of the one-day workshop is to explore the role and real-world possibilities of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and Blockchain for industry. Key advantages, as well as key performance, security, and cost limitations of blockchain solutions in the field of IoT, are presented. Participants will be introduced to ecosystems for the development and use of decentralized applications and will learn how to choose the appropriate approach for implementing blockchain-based solutions for IoT.
- IoT expectations and realities on the role of blockchains
- Blockchain as the Backend System for IoT
- Authentication and Authorization of IoT Devices with Blockchain Technologies
- Decentralized Applications for Industry
- Architectures, Organization, and Capabilities of Blockchain Networks for IoT
- Blockchain application architectures in these IoT devices
- Security of Blockchain Networks and Smart Contracts for Industry
Participants will gain access to online materials, where they will independently familiarize themselves with basic concepts before attending the one-day workshop. The materials are divided into four modules, covering:
- Module 1: Introduction to Blockchain Technology
- Module 2: Regulation, Governance, and Legal Aspects of Blockchain Systems
- Module 3: Fundamentals of Blockchain Technology and Decentralized Solutions
- Module 4: Planning and Business Aspects
Recommended prior knowledge
English language skills due to literature in English. A minimum of a 4th level degree in computer science, electrical engineering, ICT or similar, or work experience or affinity in this field is recommended.
Learning objectives
- Understanding of the specifics (limitations, advantages) of blockchain systems as a backend solution for IoT.
- Understand the performance limitations of existing blockchain technologies and networks, and be familiar with options for configuring and managing these networks to ensure adequate performance.
- Be able to define the foundations for a decentralized application for industry, including selecting the appropriate blockchain network, designing smart contracts, and planning applications on end devices.
- Be familiar with current systems for decentralized applications and be able to evaluate new and alternative solutions in the future through comparative analysis.
Target group
The training is aimed at anyone interested in working on the development of decentralised solutions.
Demand for Micro-Credentials
An analysis of the knowledge requirements in the field of decentralized solutions technologies and blockchain technology was conducted. The analysis identified the need for knowledge within three job profiles in this sector (blockchain architect, blockchain developer, and blockchain project manager). The micro-credential provides foundational knowledge for all three profiles.
