The aim of the workshop is to learn about the role and real potential of Distributed Ledger and Blockchain technology for industry. You will learn about the key benefits and key perfromance, security and cost constraints of blockchain solutions in IoT. You will be familiar with ecosystems for the development and deployment of decentralised applications and will be able to realistically evaluate the options in your field and choose the appropriate approach to implement blockchain solutions for IoT.
Content
- IoT expectations and realities on the role of blockchains,
- blockchains as an IoT back-end system,
- Authentication and authorisation of IoT devices using blockchain technologies,
- decentralised applications for industry,
- Architecture, organisation and performance of blockchain networks for IoT,
- architectures for blockchain application solutions in these IoT devices,
- blockchain network security and smart contracts for industry.
Learning objectives
- You will gain an understanding of the specifics (limitations, advantages) of blockchain systems as a back-end system for IoT.
- You will understand the performance limitations of existing technologies and blockchain networks, and know how to configure and manage these networks to ensure adequate performance.
- You will be able to define the starting points for a decentralised application for industry, including the selection and appropriate blockchain network, the design of smart contracts and the design of end-device applications.
- You will be familiar with current systems for decentralised applications and be able to benchmark new and alternative solutions for the future.
Target group
- Convergence application and service designers,
- Business architects and project navigators,
- IoT experts,
- advisers, technical managers and decision-makers in financial organisations.
